AutoCAD Fundamentals - PLUS

This course covers the core topics for working with AutoCAD®. The teaching strategy is to start with the core tools that enable the student to create and edit a simple drawing, and then continue to develop those tools. The intent is to show the fundamental usage of 2D drafting tools and application of the essential functionality of AutoCAD 2D.

Description

On completion of this course students will have been given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of commands and concepts that develop the skills necessary to demonstrate competency in:
• Navigating the AutoCAD® workspace and user interface
• Using basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools
• Organizing drawing objects on layers
• Inserting reusable symbols (blocks)
• Preparing a layout to be plotted
• Adding text, hatching, and dimensions
• Completing documentation in accordance with AS1100

In a new approach to learning AutoCAD®, we have put together a combination of Instructor-led and Guided E-learning to maximize your learning experience and reduce the amount of time out of office.

Phase 1 - 2 days Instructor-led Group Training 09:00 - 16:30

Phase 2 - 12 months access to self-paced E-learning: AutoCAD® – The Complete Guide (refer to terms and conditions on login)

Courseware

Login details for E-Training will be provided following the Instructor led training. Access is for 12 months.

Certificates

An A2K Technologies “Certificate of Attendance” will be issued following the 2 days of Instructor-led Training.

An Autodesk “Certificate of Completion” is obtained upon submittal of the Autodesk Student Evaluation Survey (within 30 days of the above).

Who should attend and Course Prerequisites

This course is designed for new users of AutoCAD.

No previous CAD experience is required, but students are expected to have:

  • a sound level of computer literacy
  • an understanding of Drafting or Engineering principles
  • a demonstrated ability to interpret working drawings
  • a sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment
