AutoCAD - Become a Power User

Many AutoCAD users are currently only using 20% of the software's functionality. AutoCAD Become a Power User is a course designed for those who have a grasp on basic 2D drafting and want to push the software to build up speed and efficiency.

Whether you have been using AutoCAD for 6 months or 10 years this course will introduce you to a range of tools and techniques that will provide a solid platform to build more productive AutoCAD workflow.


On completion of this course students will have been given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of commands and concepts that develop the skills necessary to demonstrate competency in:

•    Configuring AutoCAD for Productivity
•    Using more advanced editing and construction techniques
•    The effective use of Design Center and Tool Palettes
•    Adding parametric constraints to objects
•    Create Dynamic Blocks
•    Setting up layers, styles, and templates
•    Layer Management & Best Practice
•    Defining and working with Template Drawings and Standards
•    Working with External References, Underlay's and Images
•    Using advanced plotting and publishing options
•    Customise the AutoCAD interface

Who should attend and Course Prerequisites

This course is designed for both basic and experienced users of AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
Students are expected to have:
• attended AutoCAD Fundamentals (or equivalent)
• a working knowledge of AutoCAD
• a sound understanding of drafting principles
• a sound level of computer literacy
• a sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows environment


An A2K Technologies “Certificate of Attendance” will be issued on completion of the course.


An Autodesk® Official Training Guide is provided as a Reference Resource at the conclusion of the course.
