Infraworks LT/360 Fundamentals


The InfraWorks 360 Fundamentals and Advanced course is designed for civil engineers, planners, architects, and others using LT and full version of the software.
Day 1 (Fundamentals) focuses on LT functionality – this is relevant for all users as it is contained in the full 360 version as well.
Day 2 (Advanced) focuses specifically on 360 cloud based functionality – relevant for 360 users.
The course provides you with a fundamental knowledge of how to take advantage of the accelerated design process that uses data rich 3D models with high end visualizations. This enables you to create, evaluate, and better communicate 3D site plan proposals for faster approvals. Additional content will cover the basics of the add-on modules that are only available to Autodesk InfraWorks 360 users.

Course Contents

On completion of this course students will have been given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of commands and concepts and develop the skills necessary to demonstrate competency in:
• Navigate the Autodesk InfraWorks user interface (LT/360)
• Create new models from scratch (LT/360)
• Incorporate existing data sources into the model (LT/360)
• Rapidly generate new design concepts (LT/360)
• Add essential detail to the new design (LT/360)
• Display features according to data behind the model (LT/360)
• Create new styles according to project requirements (LT/360)
• Analyse a model to ensure that project constraints are met (LT/360)
• Collaborate with other project team members (360)
• Create high impact visualizations of the project. (LT/360)
• Generate videos by using storyboards (LT/360)
• Communicate the design to stakeholders (360)
• Use the Roadway Design for InfraWorks 360 module to:
o Create and modify design roads with precise parameters (360)
o Optimize the vertical design of a roadway and analyse it to ensure that project requirements are met (360)
o Create AutoCAD Civil 3D plan and profile sheets from a design road (360)
• Use the Bridge Design for InfraWorks 360 Module to add bridges to a design roadway (360)
• Use the Drainage Design for InfraWorks 360 Module to run a watershed analysis and create or modify culverts (360)

Who should attend and Course Prerequisites

No previous CAD experience is required, but students are expected
to have:
• a sound level of computer literacy
• a sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows
• a basic understanding and knowledge of the design process
