Description

This course covers the core topics necessary for working with AutoCAD Plant 3D to generate 3D Piping Models. It is designed for experienced AutoCAD users wishing to expand their knowledge and skills in Plant Design in a 3D Environment. AutoCAD Plant 3D brings modern 3D design to Plant Designers and Engineers. Features like spec-driven design, the placement of piping, equipment and support structures will be dealt with throughout the course.

Certificates

An A2K Technologies “Certificate of Attendance” will be issued on completion of the course.

An Autodesk® Official Training Guide is provided as a Reference Resource at the conclusion of the course.

Who should attend and Course Prerequisites

The course is designed for experienced AutoCAD users
Students are expected to have a:
• sound level of computer literacy
• sound working knowledge of the AutoCAD 2D environment
• working knowledge of AutoCAD P&ID
• knowledge of process and instrument diagrams
• knowledge of drafting practices used in documenting steel structures and     equipment

Course Contents

On completion of this course students will have been given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding
of commands and concepts and develop the skills necessary to demonstrate competency in:
• Navigating the AutoCAD Plant 3D workspace and GUI
• Using Plant 3D to Generate 3D Piping Models
• Creating Orthogonal and Isometric Drawings
• Setting up Steel Structures Including Stairs and Ladders
• The basics of Specification and Catalogue Editor
• Completing documentation in accordance with AS1100.101
• Modifying and Managing Piping Designs
